Wisden Architects considered the configuration and form of the existing building in developing a range of options for client consideration. The existing plan was the generator, the basis for the functionality, environmental performance, and architectural success.
Unusually, the living area was located on the first floor, to take advantage of the northern aspect and harbour views with privacy from the street. The result is an extension which is functional, comfortable and fun.
